I am receiving a 10.92.03 "Cartridges Not Engaged" error on a Laserjet CP3505n. The cartridges all appear fine and appear to be seated correctly in the machine. Unfortunately, It appears that the mechanism that the electronic transfer belt is attached to is not latching into place on the right side. Because of this, the front door panel does not close all the way. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

I tried removing the cartridges. The door closes and the machine tells me to install supplies. If I install the cartridges one at a time starting with the magenta cartridge and working up, the door seems to close fine with all but the black cartridge installed. However, the machine still says all the cartridges are missing. The interior mechanism still does not seem to latch on the right side as long as any of the cartridges are in the machine.

I did not see anything that would need to be pressed down. I'm attaching a photo.

This machine is (and I am estimating) 2 or 3 years old, and has been in the same position on a table for the entire time. The users said this just started happening on the day before my for my first post. I don't know if they did something while changing the toner or not.

I should also mention that when you open and close the door, there is a very slight clicking or popping sound in the lower right of the machine, almost like there is a gear or something out of alignment.

Odds are the plastic bar that engages the cartridge locks has broken at the bottom. The part number is RC1-6645-000CN. Pain in the neck to change out. I will post later some pictures and it is the last picture which is probably your issue. Heck I will attach it here.

Sorry, I had to put this project on the shelf for a while. I took the machine apart today. When I took the right panel off, a white piece, coated with pink lubricant, fell out. It measures maybe 2 cm x 2 cm. I could not determine where the piece broke off of. With the panel detached, I was able to see that one of the rollers under the piece I mentioned earlier (forget the name - it looks like a wide black belt) was dislodged. I figured out how to get the roller back in place and the front panel now closes properly. I thought I had a breakthrough but, unfortunately, the 10.92.03 message is still there.

You did not open the attachment I gave you above. If you had that part is exactly what is says this end missing. That is the part you found. You need to replace that complete piece which is not very easy and you may want to bring it to an authorized support provider. I will attach the same picture again.

I seem to be having the same difficulty with my HP 3800dn color laserjet. How do I remove the right side of the printer to peek into the workings? Could you also send me the replacement part number?
Thanks very much.

David,
I know this is an old post, but I was hoping you could share your procedure for replacing the broken plastic tab (RC1-6645-00cn) that you identified. The picture you posted showing the break is exactly the piece that I found snapped off in my printer.
Your assistance is appreciated.
