Laserjet 5100 on windows 7 64 bit?

I read old postings from last April saying HP did not have drivers and have still not been able to find anything.  I managed to use a 64 bit Vista driver for a few weeks, but it has stopped working (perhaps due to windows automatic updates?)

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Re: Laserjet 5100 on windows 7 64 bit?

I run Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (kept up-to-date with Windows updates), and (although I don't have a LaserJet 5100 printer), the 'Add Printer' dialogue does list several drivers for this model:

HP LaserJet 5100 PCL5

HP LaserJet 5100 PS

HP LaserJet 5100 Series PCL6

It may be the case that these drivers only became available after the 'Window Update' button was clicked on the 'Install the printer driver' page of the 'Add Printer' dialogue.

Note that after clicking this button, you will have to wait for several minutes whilst Windows retrieves the drivers and updates the display of available drivers.
