Laserjet 2600n: Magenta faded on left side of page

The red starts to fade out about 2/3 of the page from the right. At the left edge, there is very little red at all. It is consistent down the length of the page.

The other colors and black print fine. I have changed the toner, run the self cleaning routine, run the calibration routine. I don't know what else to try.

I never thought I'd look forward to tearing apart a printer this much. Thanks so much for this answer, you saved one from the recycle heap... for now.

Re: Laserjet 2600n: Magenta faded on left side of page

Just had the same problem on my 2600n, followed instructions and an hour or so later the magenta was working but the black cut off at the right hand side, took apart again, in half the time, cleaned a bit more thoroughly and is working fine now, what a difference from before! Thanks!
