Recently, the panel display on my 4101mfp went blank. I can still print to the device, but can't copy/fax or do anything that requires panel inputs. I ordered a replacement panel and installed it, but the same problem exists. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think it is powered by the scanner. Here are some tips from the manual.
Printer is functioning (power on, fans running,
and so forth) but the control-panel display is
blank or displays garbled text.
Verify that the control-panel cable connector location
J1210 on the scanner controller PCB is correctly
connected and fully seated.
Verify that the control-panel wire harness is correctly
connected to the control-panel door (located behind
the control-panel grounding strip). See
” on page 79.
Verify that the power supply in the flatbed unit is
Check for frayed, pinched, or damaged wires.
Replace the control panel.
The control panel gets its power from the power supply in the scan unit, not
the power supply in the print unit.

There is a 410x mfp manual entitled service addendum. The base 4100 service manual does not cover the mfp scanner or control panel. Maybe that is what you have. Info I copied was from page 116. If you don't have it check here under multifunction. I would think if the control panel is good then it must be a power issue from the scanner unit.

As i said in a similar post, before buying a new power supply, get that power supply out from the scanner unit, and replace the 2 capacitors that have popped. Its about a 30 min job.
hint, you dont have to remove the gear drive as the service manual states. Just get a phillips in there to remove the ground wire. Also, i didn't have the same capacitor but very similar. 1000microfarad @35v
