LaserJet 1300 in Windows 7 32-bit PC cannot print at 1200 dpi

I have HP LaserJet 1300 on Windows 7 32-bit PC connected via USB.  This Windows 7 32-bit PC cannot print at 1200 dpi.  Connected to Windows XP it printed at ProRes 1200 just fine,

 

On Windows 7 PC I have tried both the Universal PCL5 Driver (which is only option on Windows 7 autodetect) and also switching to Universal PCL6 Driver after install.  Both yield a maximum printing resolution of 600 dpi.  I would rather not go to a third party driver which is what most other support boards suggest.

 

How do I install a driver from HP that will yield the native 1200 dpi?  Thanks in advance.
