Omar,

This is a print cartridge motor error. If still in warranty, call for service.

Re: LJ 4350dtn 59.40 error message

Hold your horses! - don't contact them yet. Does this printer error message appear shortly after replacing the toner cartridge? On my printer it appeared the day after.

The error message could very well mean that the toner cartridge is jammed.

Try taking out the cartridge and putting it back carefully, or if in my case - you put it in originally, get someone who knows what they are doing to do it! :-)

Re: LJ 4350dtn 59.40 error message

could be something jamming up the gear train.you could take out the cartridge and make a small mark on the side of the drum gear and note it's location, then put it back in and close the cover.it should then move a bit.then take out the cartridge and see if the mark has moved at all.

Yep, Same problem. Changing the Toner cartridge fixed it.
Also got messages; "Could not lift paper tray 2"
If you're using re-manufactured toner cartridges, this is probably caused by an internally jammed toner cartridge.

Re: LJ 4350dtn 59.40 error message

I took toner out and there was a piece of black film that I could yank out (it was partially hanging out of cartridge flap.) Once I did this, I put same cartridge back in. After about 5 - 10 pages, the print quality was fine.

I tried Lance's idea with the toner and yanking out the black bit and the same toner worked alright after replacing it.

Re: LJ 4350dtn 59.40 error message

Having the error 59.40 on a hp LaserJet 4250, the departments tend to use recycled toner cartridges, when powering on the printer the motor begins the startup but only runs for 1 second and errors. I removed the toner cart and replaced with a genuine HP toner. Reset the printer this time the motor ran for about 10 seconds and the error was gone. I comapired the 2 cartridges the bad one had a seized gear and could not be moved manually the new one was easy to move.

Printer is working fine now.

Thanks, it worked; removing the cartridge, giving it a shake, then back in business...appreciate the advice!
