we have recently connected a LJ 4345 mfp to a office network using the internal print server. The network consists of a mixture of Windows 98, 2K and XP PCs. The PCs are configured to directly connect to the printer via network. PCs and printer are connected to a BNC 10 Mbps network with 6 to 9 users per loop.
For most PCs the test pages were printed properly. We have followed the trouble shooting instructions and disabled SNMP but the printer still produces in most cases a service error 49.FF09.
The I/O timeout was set to 300 sec. In the system setup menu, submenu Configuration Copy/Send the waiting time (timeout) was set to 300 as well as the time intervall of inactivity.
What is the cause of this error?

the same problem i am experiencing. i installed in win server 2003. when i got the printer it was working fine for about one month. after that i upgraded the firmware to the latest one. there it started. the service error. i think u have to change the firmware. please check what version of the firmware u r using.

Are you finding this issue with any specific application software or with any document?
I would suggest installing PS drivers for this printer & try printing. Drivers could be downloaded from following HP web link:
