Installing Laserjet 4250 dtn - Windows Server 2008 x64

We have set up a new Windows Server 2008 x64 which we would like to set up as print server. The HP Laserjet 4250dtn is automatically recognized by Windows Server 2008 x64. But of course it only installs the 64-bit driver. The clients are all of them 32 bit.

So I downloaded from the HP-site the 32-bit drivers (i tried these from XP, Vista, Server). But the server won't accept these drivers even if I try to add them manually.

I don't have any issues with another printer (Colorlaserjet CP3505).

Is this a known issue? Are there somewhere other drivers available? What can I do?

Thx

just share the queue, then in the sharing click additional drivers etc. At least this way it was working on 2003

Re: Installing Laserjet 4250 dtn - Windows Server 2008 x64

thx for your reply.

You mean to add the drivers in the sharing tab - additional drivers? That's actually the way i tried it.

I choose x86 and select the 32 bit driver, but it won't accept any driver. I did the same with the other printer (CP3505) and this worked perfectly.

Any other suggestions?
