Hp Laserjet 2200 Series PCL 6

When printing from a proprietary software program, gets an error that says,

PCL Xl Error
Sub system: Kernel
Error Reads; Illegal Tag
Operator; 0X28
Position: 135

We have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them. Rebooted everything, tried printing from another software program that isn't proprietary and it still didn't work. Gets the error message everynow and then. Printing from a SMC box(on a network, DSL). Also tried hooking up the printer cable directly to the computer, and still received the error about the 15th envelope that came out of the printer. Any suggestions on how to get this working would be great.
