where about does it sound like its comming from?back?front?side?does it occur when just printing starts and stop right after?have you tried a different cartridge,as it could be an issue with it?

otherwise commonly it could be a tray trying to lift and not able to or a gear problem in the drive or pickup/feed.

also check the swing plate gear (the gear the fuser locks into on the left side when looking in the back).the swingplate gear has a tendency to wear down and there is a kit that adds a spacer to bring it more in line with the fuser gear.if it currently does not have a spacer.

Re: HP Laserjet 4350 - clunking noise when printing

If it is coming from the rear of the printer, then 99% of the time the swing plate is the problem and needs to be replaced.  Sometimes you can get away with just replacing the outer gear and install new gear with gear and missing spacer but with the age of the printer I would recommend having the complete swing plate replaced and you will probably have to take it to a service provideer since replacing the complete gear assembly is not an easy task requiring the printer to to stripped down to frame level.
