HP Laserjet 3700 Fuser error 50.1

Just wondering if there is a counter or code to reset fuser message or if I have to replace the whole unit....maybe a fuse or thermistor gone???

And what is the service password to access service mode?

Re: HP Laserjet 3700 Fuser error 50.1

Vultrix

there is no code to reset the fuser error code but there is a time of 15 mins that you need to leave the printer powered off to clear all 50 error codes

password for service menue is 10370003

50.1 error - Fuser failure (Abnormally Low
Temperature Main Thermistor), perform the
following steps:
1. The connector between the fuser and the
printer is not connected properly. Reseat
the fuser. Check the connector J5013
between the fuser and the printer. Replace
it if damaged.
2. Break in the main thermistor. Turn the
printer off and remove the fuser. Measure
the resistance between the fuser
connectors J5013LA-2 (MAINTH) and
J5013LA-1 (GND). If it is not within the rage
of 330k ohms to 50k ohms (at ambient
temperature), replace the fuser.
3. Faulty DC controller PCB. Replace the
DC controller PCB.

Re: HP Laserjet 3700 Fuser error 50.1

I am getting an error code 50.1 on my LJ 3700DN

I have reset the fusser and powered off for 15 Minutes with no luck. Looking at the fusser with the connector on the left between which pins do I measure for 50K to 330K ohms. the connector is separated into 2 sections the lower section has 3 pins the upper section has 7 pins. I don't have any documentation so can you help me sort this out

Richard

I do not have a diagram for the pins on the fuser i have not seen this error a lot on the 3700 to say 100% its a fuser problem but going with other hp printers i would replace the fuser as the most likly problem

Re: HP Laserjet 3700 Fuser error 50.1

Most times replacing the fuser will take care of the issue, however, there have been known cases where the low voltage power supply can also cause a 50.1 error.
