HP Laserjet 3050 scan issue "Not setup on PC"

Every time that I want to scan from the printer and click on the "scan to" button the following error appears: "Not setup on PC" I did uninstall the drivers and reloaded them but with no success. It did work in the past but all of a sudden it doesn't anymore. Thanks for any feed back.

I am no expert, but try going to the start menu/programs/hp/(your printer)/scan. That's the way I use mine.

I was successful with one today. There are three things you can try. Turn printer off/on and reboot PC between each step.

I understand this problem occurs when windows performs an update.

I have the following solution that has worked for me.

Press the "Menu" button on the 3050.
Press the "#" and "*" at the same time.
Scroll to the right until you see "REINIT FFS"
Press "Enter"
Let the printer do its thing.
Reboot

Hope this works.

You might have USB disconnected and printer on, connecting cable after complete reboot.
2)There is a firmware update 3050_FW_Update-20070331.exe
3)I disconnected USB cable and uninstalled HP software and 3050 printer drivers. Reboot and reinstall software with extended software not plugging in USB until software asks you to. Reboot to complete install.
