HP LaserJet 1200 Fatal Error message

My printer started to squeel and grind when it was taking the paper and when it came out it was covered in toner. Now it does nothing. All the lights remain on contatantly, indicating a fatal error. Help would be apreciated.

Press the Job Cancel and the Go buttons at the same time and record the secondary light combination. That will tell what the problem is.

As for sqeeling and grinding, Bad toner cartridge could cause that kind of problem or the gear or main motor or even your LaserScanner motor.

Re: HP LaserJet 1200 Fatal Error message

It only has a Go button. The fatal error message appeared after I took all the covers off and inspected it. I didn't tamper with anything. Have checked all the connections as per the manual. Still has all lights constantly on and refuses to print anything.

Re: HP LaserJet 1200 Fatal Error message

If I press the Go button it goes out. The Error and Ready Remain lit. When I release the Go button it lights up again so all three are constantly lit. Thats it!

Re: HP LaserJet 1200 Fatal Error message

I have the same problem. Plug in ac cord all lights go on, hold Go only READY and ATTENTION stay on. I carefully reseated all cables suggested under HP business support document "Fatal error message causing all 3 lights to stay on" - still having the same problem. What else can I try to resolve this problem?

Re: HP LaserJet 1200 Fatal Error message

It is the Fuser error. Try Laser Pros International:

888-558-5277, ext 122.

To find out about Refurbished Unit with exchange price. That is what I woudl do.
