HP sent the instructions what to do to use this printer/scanner with Windows 7 - to use the Vista SW under compatibility mode in Windows 7(64). My printer is connected via LAN using a FritzBox.
Well I tried... Following the instructions, it started as expected - it found the printer on the LAN, but when it came to "connect the device" just an empty dialog box appears (see picture attached). If I quit it, I will go back in a loop, where the software scans the LAN again for printers...
Everything (printing/scanning) has worked perfect before under Windows XP, and there is still another computer running XP in the same network (connected via WLAN), from which printing and scanning still works.
Any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks in advance for any support.

In addition to my problem description above I checked the error protocol:
Now launching=X:\hpzdui.exe -I XXX -f X:\DIVins??.DAT
LaunchNetworkInstall gets back unexpected value 2
RUN: Driver UI Plug-In exits returning 50

No, haven't got it working up to now. Contacted HP via mail, got a reply that this would be too complicated to check it by mail and that I should call the service. Haven't done it yet.
Do you get the same error message as I?

I have the same issue. I have been trying for months to get my printer working with windows 7 including trying the Compatibility mode thing to no avail. This is crap that HP is not providing driver for Window 7. I'm like my color laser jet print and I am very disappointed.
