This message appears when we have a lot of print. Some documents are correctly printed before the laserjet is blocked with "81.0180 EIO 1 ERROR" ....

Check this link.
Maybe something there will help out.

Try the following workaround.
1. Reseat the jet direct card.
2. Swap the jet direct card to a different EIO slot.
3. Swap the Jet direct card with a known good Jet direct card and see whether the issue persist.
4. Perform a cold reset.
a.Turn printer off.
b.Hold the GO key.
c.Turn printer on.
d.Continue to hold the GO key until the printer reads Cold Reset.
g.Then, Restoring Factory Settings.
h.Followed by Offline.
i.Press the GO key to put back on line.

I would make sure the JD FW is up-to-date, which is mentioned in the link Jimmy posted. The LJ8150 printer FW can also be flash-upgraded.
I have never known PCL version to cause EIO errors.
Please let us know how it turns out.

Problem could possibly be in the Formatter board itself. Only way to check that since you have tried everything else is to replace it and see if that corrects the issue.
