Color Laserjet 2840 -- Page too complex

This printer is about a year old and has just started giving me the message "Page too complex" and then willnot print. I thought it was my version of adobe at first then it started whenever I attempted to print a test page from properties. It will no longer print even one page at a time and the instant support active chat has been running for over 14 hrs with no sign of changing, just scanning.

I appreciat any assistance with this matter I can obtain.

Re: Color Laserjet 2840 -- Page too complex

I found some info on this problem here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=...

Page too complex to cont.
Description
The device could not print the current page because of its complexity.
Recommended action
Press ENTER to clear the message.
Allow the device to finish the job, or press CANCEL to cancel the job.
Lower the USB speed on the product by turning off "High Speed USB". Following are instructions on how to do this from the Secondary Service Menu:
To access the Secondary Service Menu press the Menu button.
Now press the #2 button and use the < arrow to navigate to the High Speed USB selection.
Press Enter and then use the arrow key to go to Off and press Enter again.
Press the Cancel button twice to exit the Secondary Service Menu.
If the error continues to persist, contact Hewlett-Packard for technical support to troubleshoot the problem. Click here to go for more information about contacting Hewlett-Packard.

If the above suggestion doesn't work...
In the past this sort of message indicated that something went wrong causing the print job to grow out of control possibly running the printer out of memory. I would find to work around this I could use the PostScript driver instead of the PCL6 driver or the PCL5e driver instead of the PostScript driver. It looks like this unit has PCL6 and Postscript available. The key is try to change how it renders the job by using a different driver. Could also just need reinstalled or updated to the newest version. The other idea would be to flash the firmware.

PCL6 Driver:

Postscript Driver:

Firmware: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18...
