The pdf above worked great for me to.  I had to follow it with these steps to remove some shadowing:

1. Power off printer

2. Holding down Select (tick) and Cancel buttons, power on printer

3. Release buttons when display reads "permanent storage init"

Re: Color Laserjet 2600n not printing magenta/already replaced cartridge

Sorry for resurrecting this topic but I tried to clean one of our units and failed badly. Now the only things I got are some minor, fading black/yellow combinations. Tried to print about 90 pages to make sure it's nothing toner related. Beforehands it was magenta only missing.

Anyone has a clue what could possibly went wrong or an idea how to fix this? As far as I can see the I covered everything the manual reads.

Thanks so much!

First off if you tried to clean the optics per the pdf, then you did not do things right and or did not connect everything back ok. You need to do it again and pay close attention to the ribbon connectors that go to the laser/scanner. There are 2 and the bottom one is probably not connected correctly.
