Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP - loud, grating noise when calibrating and/or printing

Hi,
I've had this Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP for about 6 months.
It recently began making a horrible grinding sound when initializing, calibrating, cleaning, and printing. At first, the noise was occassional, but now the grating sound is happening any time the printer is not idle.
I have tried switching out the toner cartridges, but that doesn't help.
Any troubleshooting advice, or should I just return it to the retailer?
Thanks,
W.

I have this same problem too.

Whitney, did you find a resolution or did you just take it back?

I think my printer is out of warranty. I have read that the fuser / fuser drive gears can get worn out on other HP Lasers, but I haven't checked to see if that's the problem here.
