CLJ 3500 Makes loud grinding noise when printing

I have a 3500 the makes a nasty loud grinding noise when printing. It does print ok, but it's really loud.
Does anybody know which part(s) need replacing to fix this?
I included a recording of the sound.
Thanks.

Not sure but with the power off remove the fuser in the back and turn the gear by hand and see if the action is smooth or bumpy. Also check the gear on the fuser and the one in the printer.

Re: CLJ 3500 Makes loud grinding noise when printing

It does seem to come from the fuser unit. But if I take it out the gears turn fine and smooth the same goes for inside the printer.
But turning the gears manually inside the printer when the fuser is inside it seems to make some noise.
I'm afraid I have to try a new fuser (this one is fairly new, still 80% to go). Which would still be way better than replacing gears...
Thanks.
