Attaching a Laserjet 4050 to a usb connection

My new computer has no parallel connection and the parallel/usb cable that I bought does not allow my Laserjet 4050 to be recognized.

How can yo attach the 4050 to a new computer with no parallel port?

Re: Attaching a Laserjet 4050 to a usb connection

Stuart,

USB/Parallel cables, based on posts here in the forums either work or don't. I've never seen anyone report that one purchased from David's link did not work, so I'd do that.

The other solution for you is if your new computer is a desktop (as opposed to a laptop), you can add a PCI parallel card to it, which would then give you the parallel port.

The Sewell adapter does not work with the Laserjet 4050.
