Adding Duplex Unit to CP3525 possible?

Hi,

is it possible to add a Duplex-Unit to an CP3525n (thus, transforming it into an CP3525dn)?

I doubt it, because I was´nt able to find a a place to order the unit.

Just to make sure.

Thank you very much,

   Wolfgang

From what I remember both models have the same parts just models are typed at the factory with special code.  No way to make one the other.

David is correct. The parts necessary for duplex are put in at the factory instead of the parts the non-duplex would use. No conversions.

It's conceivable that you could convert it, but it would require multiple parts to be replaced in addition to changing the formatter and perhaps the DC controller as well. By the time you got the needed items, your cost would be a bit more than just buying the duplex model.

Thank you David and TechPro for your detailed and skillfull answers.

Background is, that one of our users ordered the wrong model.

But I´m sure, as the "main printing room" is going to be moved to the basement soon, there will be an increased demand for printers in the coming weeks. So we will find a new home for the simplex printer.

Thanks again,

  Wolfgang
