4250 Tray 3 Waiting to Lift

I have a 4250 that displays waiting for tray 3 to lift on the control panel and it won't print. Happened after a user manhandled the paper trays while trying to clear a jam. My thought is that the mechanism that lifts the paper is broken. Any thoughts?

Laurie

try switching trays IE: put tray 2 in bay 3 and tray 3 in bay 2 if the fault moves with the tray then its the tray and if stay with the tray 3 bay then its the lift mechanisem

Re: 4250 Tray 3 Waiting to Lift

something may have gotten jarred out of place then.check the right side of the tray and see if everything is in place.there's a tension spring on the lifter motor that can sometimes come off.if it does it can cause issues.

if you take the printer off the tray ,you can remove the right side cover on the tray housing and look in there.see the attachment for further info.

Thank you both for your replies. It turns out it was a paper jam.
