4050 err:78 8109

We have the 79.8109 Printer Error on a 4050n in the office,power off and turn on it will be normal,but sometime will show again, i want to know this is hardward or software problem ??

HP has a few documents on troubleshooting 79 errors one of which is bpl05191. 79 errors are almost always software related.

Yes a 79 error can be and is mostly logic related, however any option like an envelope feeder or duplexer can also throw a 79 error. The best thing to do is remove all options first then try printing. If the error persists then remove memory, and also your EIO "network card" from there if you still get a 79 error then the only option left would be your formatter.
