2015 always going offline

We have around 20 2015n printers and they are constantly going offline whenever you try to print to them. The only way I have found to reconnect them is to disconnect the network and power leads and then plug the network cable and then the power lead back in followed by opening and shutting the front. Does anyone know why this is happening and how can I get round it.
Thanks
Phil

Re: 2015 always going offline

We have the same problems with the 3 of our HP LaserJet 2015dn printers.
Does anyone have a response?
Thanks

Re: 2015 always going offline

This seems to be a long term problem that HP has yet to determine how to fix. See thread 1163881

Following the thread HP is throwing various hardware parts/firmware at the problem to see what sticks.

The problem for our p2015dn appears to be that the power save cycle kicks in and the only way to wake it up is to manually power cycle the printer. Even the status page cannot be reached until the power cycle is performed. Ditto for a self test (hold down the green button for 5 seconds) - doesn't work until after a power cycle.

If you contact HP and get a solution please post here.

Thanks!

We also have the same problem with our 2015. Wish I knew a permanent solution.

Re: 2015 always going offline

Our p2015 went from bad to worse over the four day weekend. Doesn't work at all now. On power up the jam light is on but that is it. I did try the unplug and wait 10 minutes trick and it did print two jobs then went back into failure mode. The trick doesn't work any more.

Pretty sad.

Re: 2015 always going offline

Just FYI, I received the DIMM firmware update (back in Dec) that is referred to here and seemed to work for a week or so but now it's back to it's old tricks. I'm going to contact HP and see what they say this time.

Re: 2015 always going offline

same problem here guys....really annoying. Hope someone can come up with a fix. it seems you have to power cycle the printer several times before it'll come back into life.

Re: 2015 always going offline

more info - the printer thats not working for me is being used through a netgear 8 port switch.....we have others being used via same switches and they are fine though.

Re: 2015 always going offline

Got the same problem here, the printer become offline serveral times a day. The only way to get them running again is powering them off.

Got someone a solution already?

The above link is broken.  It takes you to Business Forum page without any related information on it.  What is the correct link since all of the post regarding this issue on P2015DN send you to this link?

Re: 2015 always going offline

Here the solution again. This is not a joke. It works.

Remove the formatter board and remove tape by memory slot if there. Prop up on four corners and place in a baking pan chips facing up and make sure the bottom of the board does not touch the pan. Preheat regular oven to 350F (177C), place in oven for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool for 30 minutes and put back in printer. Please do not post to this link that I did it for x minutes and x temperature since that is what has happened to the last thread and confuses people trying to fix theirs. The instructions above work 100% of the time when the formatter has cold solder joints on the main processor. Link to service manual below if you need to see how to remove formatter:
