Thin Blue Streaks/Lines on print outs

A week ago on my 4600, I get thin blue horizontal streaks/lines on every print out. They are 1.25" apart and the thickness of a ink pen mark.

I opened up the front compartment and did not see an over amount of blue toner except on the black plastic roller. This plastic sheet has the blue streaks on it in the same pattern that is on the print outs. So possibly the toner is being put on the roller and when the paper is transferred by this roller, the blue streaks are transfered to the paper.

I wipe the black plastic clean but reappears on the very next print out.

The blue cartridge is 50% used and haven't had this problem until a week ago.

Re: Thin Blue Streaks/Lines on print outs

Thanks Pat, but that document deals with ink jet printers. Mine is a Laser Jet. I've done a search on lines/streaks and I come up with zippo.

Re: Thin Blue Streaks/Lines on print outs

I received a response from HP and they instructed me to upgrade my firmware, which I did.

Didn't help.

I guess I will replace the cartridge and see what happens unless someone has any ideas.

Re: Thin Blue Streaks/Lines on print outs

Hi, Bobby,

Sorry about the deskjet. This refers to the same problem, but, the lines are black not blue.

Hope this resolves it.
