Out of Memory problem. This Error Code only appears in HP DesignJets 800 Series, or in the HP DesignJet 500 Series with an
HP-GL/2 card installed, when processing either a PostScript or HPGL/2 file.
Corrective Action: Try the following:
Check the amount of RAM in the Printer using the Front Panel
(use the Printer Information utility â Page 4-27). If necessary, install more memory into the Formatter.
If the problem continues, try processing the file in the PC instead of the Printer (select Avoid out of memory in Advanced options in the Driver).
hope this helps

you can also remove the GL2 card and then try to print. You will not get the error msg and it will print.

does it happen with all plots?
If you are not using a MAC, take out the HPGL2 card and download the non HPGL/2 driver. the 16 meg vs 32 meg probably wont matter much.
I have also found that the HPGL/2 card causes .pdf files to print much slower than the windows driver.
If this works, then I would say you have a faulty HPGL/2 card.

Currently I use it to plot drawings of buildings. But I was wondering what others out there use their plotter for.
Thanks in advance for the input.

Has this issue been resolved? I am having the same issue with my DesignJet 500ps. Whenever I print PDF files, I will get error 71:06 Out of memory. Data was lost.
I changed the spooling options to wait until the last page was spooled before it started to print, and it still doesn't work. I can't "select Avoid out of memory in Advanced options in the Driver", because I don't have that option.
Please help. Thanks.
