I was finally able to change the belt only, but now I get Switch printer off Check cartridge path after 3-4lines of print. I would still like the directions for future use.

I will be sending the info shortly. The error you are getting says there is something wrong in the carriage path. Probably due to something you did when changing the belt. While you had the belt off you should have cleaned and oiled the slider rods (rods the carriage moves on. This might be what the problem is. Also you took the carriage off to put the new belt on. Check the rear bushing on the carriage for being at an angle when you put it back on. There is some slop in the bushing, and it can get skewed somewhat causing more friction. With the power off and the right hand cover removed, slide the carriage to the right. You should now be able to push in on the rear bushing and see if it might be hung up. I will email you the infor in a bit - once I get off the board.

Also - Why aren't these published on HP's site for all to see (if needed).

I'd really appreciate these instructions too.
Am a bit daunted about replacing the belt and the instructions in the service manual could do with a bit extra.
