Designjet T790 HDD Failure and the reloading of Firmware

Hi

We have a Designjet T790 which is just out of warranty and has suffered a hard drive failure.

Having replaced the hard drive we are struggling to install the firmware to the new drive.

Can anyone provide any pointers  ?

HP support have said to load onto a usb memory stick, install in plug and power up printer but the USB doesn't load

Any help greatly appreciated

Hi.

Are you talking about updating the firmware or installing to an empty disk?

You need a HDD from HP with the firmware preinstalled. It won't work with an empty HDD.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. We're trying to install to a virgin HDD.
Is there nowhere to download the disc image to do this or is our option to buy an over inflated new HDD from HP.

I spouse that any hard drive could be copied. I wonder if anybody know how to do this for hp hard drives?
