Designjet 4000

Hi ,

One of my customers has a designjet 4000, that is showing a 79.04 error.

The customer was getting faded prints and as such changed both black heads and ink, it went to calibrate and produced this error.

The error is supposed to be due to a firmware error, which is the first thing i did. After upgrading the firmware via the EWS system, it tried to calibrate and failed again.

If i cancel the calibration it fails when it attempt to print.

I have cleaned the cradle a reading sensors.

Can anyone advise me please

Yours

Re: Designjet 4000

Did you try to put back in the old printheads and cartridges. Perhaps one of the new ones has an issue.

Re: Designjet 4000

Thanks for your reply,

i have put the old heads back in and basically its the same, it will align a couple of lines and throw up the 79.04 error.

Any thoughts on what to do next?

Re: Designjet 4000

Try upgrading the firmware again, even if you have the latest version. If that does not solve the problem you may have to call for service since there are many many things that can cause this error and technicians who have access to hp support can relay logs from the printer to obtain possible fixes.
