DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Hello,

Has anyone found a driver for Win 7 64 bit for the HP 750C DesignJet?  Does anyone know if you can run a program in Win 7 Pro and print in XP compatibility mode?  Found a driver for XP 64bit has anyone tried this in Win 7 Pro.  Is HP working on a driver for this problem?

Please, need help can´t afford to replace this plotter because of a driver problem.

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

For my Designjet 650c in Windows 7 x64 I have had good results with the XP x64 driver.  I would certainly suggest trying the Designjet 750c XP x64 drivers in your case.

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Hey Bob,

Thanks for the response.  I do not have a xp 64bit  or a vista 64 bit dvd.  I only have the Windows 7 Pro 64 bit DVD.  I have tried downloading this file but HP tells me to use the driver on the XP 64 bit DVD.  Does anyone out there have a driver for the 750C or 650 that they would mind e-mailing me or giving me a link I could download it from.

Thanks in advance.

James

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Hello

I have the Win 7 Pro O.S. installed and I was able to get a Win XP 64 bit DVD ,  I have installed a lot of printer drivers using the same disk of my O.S. through the pull down menu system to find the mfg. and model number of the plotter, but never using a different O.S.  Can someone tell me how to find by name of folder using the browser to find the folder or the .inf file needed for the HP 750C plotter?  Where are they located on the XP 64 bit DVD and what files or folder will I need to install the driver?

Thanks in advance,

James

You can add the driver using the XP x64 CD as described by StanGlassPLot in the Sept 12, 2009 post here

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

The XP 64 bit driver from here works well in Windows 7 x64.  Unzip the file to a temporary directory, then go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, select the appropriate port, then select Have a Disk and point to the folder where you unzipped the files.

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

This driver worked; however, the clients are now finding they can't scale correctly.  (On their XP 64-bit machine and other XP machines the data can be rescaled; however, on the windows 7 64-bit machines it doesn't work.)

Has anyone experienced this?  Or does anyone have a suggestion?

Thank you .

In addition to this question, is HP Install Network Printer Wizard (INPW) compatible with Windows 7 64 bit?

Thanks,

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Just wanted to say thanks to Bob Headrick for posting up this driver.  It put me in business in getting my 750C+ working again.

I believe it's important to keep these old workhorse printers going.  It's nice to have a reliable printer these days.

So THANKS Bob!

We used Vista 64 bit drivers on our Windows 7 64 bit machines...worked like a charm...used them on our 700 too...

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

[ Edited ]

I downloaded the driver noted above (pl532en.exe) to my new computer and it will not install. I have the same system as noted above (win 7 pro 64bit and 750c plus).

I have an older laptop that runs XP, AutoCAD 2008 and I can plot to the 750c. I bought a new laptop that runs win 7 pro, AutoCAD 2008 and it will not install driver to plot to the 750c.

I've tried installing the printer (750c) and then manually browsing for the driver. I extracted the pl532en.exe files to a specific folder. During printer install, I browse for the driver. Then I get this message " windows was unable to install you HP Designjet 750c plus (c4709b).

I also tried to install the 1050c driver as I read that might work. I was able to install a 1050 printer/driver. The 1050 is reconized in AutoCAD. I sent a test plot and it does not go to the 750.

Ideas??

How is the 750c connected?  I would suspect an issue with the port settings. Does the print job you sent stay in the queue or does it disappear without printing?  I am using this driver with a Win 7 x64 system successfully with a network connected Deskjet 650c.

If you are using a USB-parallel converter make sure that it is supported in Windows 7.  In addition to the printer driver a driver for the USB-parallel converter could be required.  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/tag/w7_USB-parallel/tg-p has some posts tagged that users have reported models working with Windows 7.

I can't get my windows 7 to reconize the 750c or install the driver.

I downloaded the driver that was linked. I made a folder for it and extracted files. I plugged in the 750 and when prompted for a driver, choose "browse" and picked the folder. Then it tells me it can not install files.

I am using a parallel/usb. The plotter does have a network card, but I don't know how to set it up.

I will read up on this patch and try again.

Recenly locating and installing drivers was a nigtmare for me too. But i foud for myself a pefect solution - Fixio Driver Finder and forgot about the problem at all. Perhaps it would help you too))

Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7?  What exactly is the nature of "did not work"?  See the post here for information on how to apply the patch.

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

I have a 750C+ and I am trying to get it to work with my windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit computer. The printer has a network card installed (I believe its an HP projet somehthing). I have an ethernet cable running from the network card on the printer to my ethernet port on my computer so they are directly hooked up to eachother. When I run an ipconfig command in command prompt, I am able to find the ipv6 address of the printer. I then downloaded the x64 XP driver that was posed in this thread. Next I used the add local printer wizard to attempt to add the printer. The wizard says that the printer was successfully added, but it fails to print the test page. I suspect my issues comes from the first step in the wizard where I have to choose the printer port, What port do I select if I have the printer hooked up to my ethernet port? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: DesignJet 750C driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Fast forward to Sept 2013 and HP drivers for windows XP 64 bit are no longer available to download. Does any one have a fix to run the 750c on windows 7 home edition

Thanks

Leif
