750C ERROR 070030

This error comes up once or twice for almost every plot. Hitting the Enter key clears it and the plot continues. It has become very annoying. Any suggestions?

Re: 750C ERROR 070030

Hi Rick-

The 070030 System Error indicates that the drop detect status signal indicates a bad drop detector. The corrective actions are to perform the drop detector/open sensor test, perform the drop detect calibration and if the problem persists replace the Service station, cable assembly, and Main PCA one at a time. To get instructions on how to do these operations you should call HP Hardware Support at (800)633-3600.

Re: 750C ERROR 070030

The message you are getting is caused by the drop detector not sensing the ink drops from the cartridges. More often than not it is usually caused by the detector needs to be recalibrated. It can be genuinely bad or be filled up with ink in which case some parts will have to be replaced.
If your machine goes & checks the pens each time before plotting then you can usually turn off the pen checking function (It will save time & ink & service calls). This is not advised only when a lot of plots are put in the queue & left unattended like overnite.
To recalibrate the drop detector do the following;
1. Go to the utilities menu & hit enter once, then hit both the ENTER & UP ARROW together.
2. scroll to item "1C DROP DETECT CAL" and press enter. The machine will then attempt to calibrate it and hopefully show "SUCCESS CALIBRATION /PRESS ENTER".
If it fails an error code number will show up & a service call is in order.
Press PREVIOUS until machine is back to READY.
Fix it right the 1st time!
