rp5470 vs rx6600

We're thinking of replace our 4x16 rp5470 with a 4x20 rx6600. Can anyone describe any relative performance metrics to compare these two boxes? The environment runs HPUX 11i and is a dedicated Oracle DB server.

Thanks in advance!

Re: rp5470 vs rx6600

Shalom,

I've worked with rx6600 and rx3600 boxes via customers.

It will run circles around the rp5470.

Two different generations of machines. CPU tasks will be done in 25% of the time depending on intensity.

Now Oracle will depend a lot on kernel and memory settings and I/O, but you will still see a substantial boost there.

As far as metrics go, you can search google if you want these are two different machine generations, different processor architecture.

An order of magnitutde, this box can do much more work.
