Upgrade To 11i v3

Dears,
Good day,

I have question, my systems come with 11i v2. I'm thinking why I shouldn't I upgrade to 11i v3 ??

But I'm wondering about the MirrorDisk Lic + Online JFS Linc + the OS Support. What will happen to my Lics ?

Thanks

Re: Upgrade To 11i v3

upgrade is free from v2 to v3, you need to ask HP for license upgrade.

Re: Upgrade To 11i v3

Thanks folks,

I'm checking if I can upgrade and one of the steps is to check the FW of our HBA.

I have :

HP AB379-60001 4Gb Dual Port PCI/PCI-X Fibre Channel Adapter

HP-UX SW :

# swlist FibrChanl-01
# Initializing...
# Contacting target "repsrv"...
#
# Target: repsrv:/
#

# FibrChanl-01 B.11.23.1003.01 FibrChnl;SupptdHW=A6826A,A9782A,A9784A,AB378A,AB379A,AB465A,AD193A,AD194A,AD300A
FibrChanl-01.FC-FCD B.11.23.1003.01 HP PCI-X/PCIe FibreChannel Driver(FCD)

But the FW is not as HP recommend. It should be 4.2

# fcmsutil /dev/fcd2 vpd
V I T A L P R O D U C T D A T A
--------- ------------- -------

Product Description : HP PCI-X 2.0 Dual Port 4Gb Fibre Channel HBA

Part number : AB379-60001

Engineering Date Code : A-4624

Part Serial number : MY50642S56

Misc. Information : PW=15W;PCI=66MHZ;PCI-X=266MHZ

Check Sum : 0x9a

EFI version : 01.09

ROM Firmware version : 04.00.90

BIOS version : 01.26

Thanks

Re: Upgrade To 11i v3

Shalom,

if you have a software support agreement, all your licenses are transferable.

The reason you don't want to upgrade, eg use upgrade-ux is because that process is not reliable. You want to cold install the OS and then do your applications fresh.
