Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

I am having some problems playing back scripts created using Windows Socket protocol. For some reason the sockets are being disconnected. Support is useless and I thought someone here could help.

Thanks

Re: Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

"This error can occur when the local network system aborts a connection, such as when Winsock closes an established connection after data retransmission fails (receiver never acknowledges data sent on a datastream socket)." [ http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/w2000Msgs/5148.mspx?mfr=true ]

My experience is that this error is often caused by the Windows XP firewall. Try to disable the firewall for debugging. If this is successful identify which ports need to be opened for the application playback to work correctly.

Re: Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

Thank you for your information. Unfortunately my application is running on Windows2003 SP2 and not on XP. I am also recording on a application that uses Smart Sockets as the protocol. I will try to see what else I can do with the firewall settings.

Thank you

Re: Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

have you been able to find a solution?

I'm facing the same issue as you. I'm trying to test an application talking over SSH and am getting the same issue on a specific recv buffer during login...

Not able to decipher whats being passed on its previous SEND buffer:
send buf9 68

"\xfc\xc4\xce"
"`"
"\x99\xe7\x9c"
"7ES\f"
"\xbc\x9e\xa4"

"\t!"

"]R"
"\xbb\xaf\x15"

Re: Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

Hi,

Actually This error comes sometimes when the data sent are received to/from the buffer exceeds the default 60 sec.

Use lrs_set_send_timeout() or lrs_set_recv_timeout() before to that corresponding buffer.

check for correlation on that previous send buffers. If any of the correlation as mismatched then the request send from the buffer is not right .for that time delay would happen.

Thanks,
Karthik.

Re: Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

I have tried increasing the connection timeout. But that doesn't help.

Coz, it is SSH, likely SSH encryption happening. When trying to replay recorded script, looks like a new key is generated and encryption is based on that. Since I'm sending the same data recorded, Server may not be getting the expected data and hence the error. There is no value that can be directly correlated from any previous receive buffers.

Any idea if some encryption logic can be applied to the script to get right data to be passed to server with the new key? or is there another way out of this????

Re: Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

Hi Prakash,

In this case I believe that the problem was there was a lot of binary data being generated as code. This may not be the issue you have. If possible please post a new thread with as much detail to what your issue is.
