swinstall doesn't open tui interface

Hi All,

When I run swinstall command, it doesn't open TUI interface. It just waits ....

#swinstall
NOTE: The interactive UI was invoked, since no software was
specified.

I have tried with vt100, but it is the same.

I have tried the instructions in the following URL, but no luck.

http://www.arizonaed.com/mirror/www.introcomp.co.uk/hpux/swinstall_probs.html

I suspect this is related to some lock file. Same is the case with swremove.

Please help,

Ravi

Re: swinstall doesn't open tui interface

echo $DISPLAY to see whether you have your DISPLAY set into somewhere else and swinstall will put a GUI over there.

Re: swinstall doesn't open tui interface

Hi burnard,

You are correct. After unsetting teh DISPLAY variable, swinstall started the TUI session.

Thank you Very much.

Hi James,

Thank you for responce. The very first step I perform whenever I get problems with sw is restarting the agent.

Thank you :)
