I am implementing SWA in hpux 11.31

SWA version is  C.02.90 and all the pre-requisites met properly.
Getting below error when running swa report

#swa report -x http_proxy="http://proxy.tech.com:8080" -x hp_id="user" -x hp_pw="pwd" -x verbosity=D

This command below error

/etc/opt/swa/swa.conf file :

user_dir = /var/opt/swa/
analyzers = QPK CRIT PCW SEC
catalog_max_age = 0
inventory_max_age = 0
html_report = ~/.swa/report/swa_report.html
allow_existing_depot = false
ftp_proxy = http://proxy.tech.com:8080
hp_id = user_id
hp_pw = passwd
https_proxy = http://proxy.tech.com:8080
http_proxy = http://proxy.tech.com:8080

Re: SWA error

I think you have to specify the username and password in the URL for the proxy server.

For exampe:

proxy user name= fred

proxy password=wilma

The line required in swa.conf for the proxy is:

ftp_proxy = http://fred:wilma@proxy.tech.com:8080
https_proxy = http://fred:wilma@proxy.tech.com:8080
http_proxy = http://fred:wilma@proxy.tech.com:8080

Re: SWA error

[ Edited ]

I don't need to put in information about the user name or password in our proxy server address. I think the OP may need to go to https://www.hp.com/go/swa and read the document "Installing the Intermediate Certificates for Software Assistant whitepaper".

Re: SWA error

Admins

Below is the message

DEBUG:   Using token url: https://ftp.itrc.hp.com/wpsl/bin/validateEntitlement
DEBUG:   proxy instantiated.
DEBUG:   ProxyAuthenticator: getPasswordAuthentication() was called.
DEBUG:   URL request failed: java.io.IOException: Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required"
         Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required"

My two  queries..

proxy instantiated >> does it mean proxy access is done..?

Using token url: https://ftp.itrc.hp.com/wpsl/bin/validateEntitlement >> since itrc.hp.com is migrated to hpsc, we need to change url to hpsc...?

please suggest.

Re: SWA error

Hi Admins,

Issue was with certificate autherization.Same has been solved by generating new certificate.

Post this i can run download patches without any problem.

Now please help me to clear below issues.

1.#swa get -t /patch

Patches are downloading to cache directory under /var not /patch as mentioned with command.

My worry is there is no enough space in /var mountpoint.

2.MAN page says as below :

• PATCH – Given a specific patch, SWA indicates whether that patch is required for your system
or not. HP recommends the CHAIN analyzer to report a patches' relevance to your system,
since it will report the most recent, stable patch in the chain.
• CHAIN – Given a specific patch, SWA indicates whether that patch is required for your system
or not. If the patch is required, SWA selects the HP recommended patch at or above the
specified patch.

I want to use above analyzers with 'swa step' command to analyze, recommended patches mentioned in analysis file can be installed or not in my system.

Please guide me how to do that..

Re: SWA error

 Admins,

I am trying to swa report of a remote server.For security reasons ssh port changed to 2222.

#swa report -a SEC -s ssh://test@X.X.X.X -x ssh_options='-o batchmode=yes'

Command fails ,since its trying to connect remoteserver over port 22.

I need to mention ssh port number as 2222 with command.

Please guide to do the same.

Does passing '-p 2222' as an ssh option work?
