PHCO_25226

Hi All,

Does any one have an idea of the equivalent for patch PHCO_25226 in hp-ux ipf 64 bit

Below are some details of the patch
Critical: Yes
PHCO_25226: OTHER
Performance degradation and sudden increase in
CPU utilization due to mutex contention.

Category Tags:
defect_repair enhancement general_release critical manual_dependencies

I have a B.11.23 U ia64 box for which i am looking for a equivalent patch.

Also please let me know if the patch PHCO_31553 servers the same purpose on Itanium?

Thanks,
Pattabhi Raman

Re: PHCO_25226

Patch PHC0_25226 is for HP-UX 11i v1. There is no IA64-version of HP-UX 11i v1, so there is no equivalent patch for IA64.

With the description "pthread library cumulatyive patch" of PHC0_25226, you can search the patch database for a patch of the same family for HP-UX 11iv2 or HP-UX 11iv3 of IA64 :
For HP-UX 11i v2 : PHCO_34944
For HP-UX 11i v3 : PHCO_35996

PHCO_31553 is superseded by PHC0_34994, and thus belongs to the same family as patch PHC0_25226, but for a different OS-version.

Re: PHCO_25226

Thanks for the reply Wim,

Just another quick one

When the patch details say

Hardware Dependencies: None

Does that that mean that irelevant of the H/W being Itanium or PARISC, the pacth can be installed given the fact that the OS is same eg 11.v2 .. and so on..

Please let me know if my assumption is right?

Re: PHCO_25226

Yes, you are right. Patches for HP-UX 11i v2 and later have both PA-RISC and IA64 filesets in it (if there is any processor dependency), so one patch is for both platforms.
The choice about what fileset to install is done automatically during swinstall, you don't have to worry about that.
