Can I copy /usr/conf/mod/core from one system to another to enable swinstall?

[ Edited ]

Hi

My /usr/conf/mod/core file is missing.  It is stopping me from swinstalling the latest FC-01 drivers for our HBAs.

Can I copy the /usr/conf/mod/core from another system, enabling me to install successfully?

Regards

Tariq

Why?  You better fix your processes so you don't remove it again!

You should be able to do this if you have the same version and patch levels between the two systems.

I'll bet you have a cron job to recursively remove 'core' files from your system. You can modify the find command to prune the directory:

find / -path '/usr/conf/mod' -prune -o \
   \( -fsonly hfs -o -fsonly vxfs \) \
   -name 'core' -type f -exec rm -f {} \;

The /usr/conf/mod/core file is delivered with OS-Core.CORE2-KRN.
