CD is empty

[ Edited ]

Hello,

When trying to install patches on HP-UX b.11.11 from CD the following message has been received:

The deport "HOSTNAME:/cdrom/" exists but is currently empty

These are the command I used:

# ioscan -funC disk

# mkdir /cdrom

# chmod 777 /cdrom

#mount /dev/dsk/c2t0d0 /cdrom

# swinstall -s /cdrom

BTW, It worked well with other HP-UX CD.

Also, I can see the CD's content (ll /cdrom).

Please advice,

Yali

Hmm, it appears you are starting in the right place.

What do /cdrom/BUNDLE11i.readme & GOLDQPK11i.readme & HWEnable11i.readme say?

Re: CD is empty

There are multiple bundles, you need to specify one, e.g.

# swlist -s /cdrom/DIAGNOSTICS/B.11.11

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Support Plus CD contents

[ Edited ]

Again, what does the contents of /cdrom/BUNDLE11i.readme & GOLDQPK11i.readme & HWEnable11i.readme say?

(They should explain how to use swlist/swinstall on the various depots.)

Re: CD is empty

The problem is that for each
# swlist -s /cdrom/DIAGNOSTICS/B.11.11 (or other bundle)
command the system require a reboot, so it takes a lot of time.
Can I copy the CD content to a directory on the system and install from there?
What command should I use?

Re: CD is empty

This depot from CD is likely 6 years old now, maybe there are some newer bits out already?

However, copy the depots to a single depot, e.g. with

# swcopy -s  /cdrom/DIAGNOSTICS/B.11.11

and then install them all at once.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
