RE: Stale entries in /etc/lvmtab

Hi Guys,

We have some stale entries in /etc/lvmtab and we wanted to clean it up.
Earlier we had some Vg's which were exported in the problem machine(A) and imported to other machine(B).
When we did this exercise we did not remove the entries from the /etc/lvmtab. We were using
HP EVA 5000 for our storage. Our storage team has presented two 500Gb luns to this machine A.
we were able to see these luns by Hp Secure path spmgr. The problem is we had 4 deactivated Vg's
currently on this system only one of this Vg ( /dev/u05) has the group file and the rest doesn't have
these group files either. When these VG's have been deactivated the 4 Lun's have been unpresented at
storage end, But now as the 2 new Lun's have been presented to this machine A. There was a conflict
with the device names, these device names are now c24t0d3 and c24t0d5. But this device name c24t0d3 is
part of u05 Vg earlier and its entries are still there in /etc/lvmtab. How can we use this device c24t0d3
to create new Vg or to extend an existing Vg. I have used used this c24t0d5 device by extending an existing
Vg. Thanks in advnace. Suggestions are welcome.
