Using Insert in Word 2003 not bringing up TRIM 7.1 dialog box, but works in TRIM 6.2.1

We are in the midst of testing TRIM 7.1 in a development environment in our organisation.  One of our testers has raised this issue:

Under TRIM 6.2.1 and Word 2003, selecting Insert (to insert a picture or another document) will bring up a TRIM window to select a record to insert from.   So all good here.

However under TRIM 7.1, selecting Insert in Word 2003 brings up the usual Windows Explorer to select a file from any given hard drive or network drive, rather than a TRIM window.  It is like the integration isn't reaching to that level in 7.1 whereas 6.2.1 did.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and any clues as to how it can be fixed?  Is this a bug in 7.1??

I don't remember how it worked in 6.2.3, but when I tried to insert an object just now with Word 2010 (Trim 7.1 enabled), it had me browse for a file and didn't bring up the Trim integration either.

I could be wrong here, but since ODMA was dropped in 2010 the TRIM 7.1 integration no longer supports any of the standard ODMA interfaces.  Clicking Insert FIle will take you to your disk drive and not the TRIM integration.

Inserting from within Word 2007, with TRIM v7.1, also brought up the windows explorer screen vs a TRIM search window.

Re: Using Insert in Word 2003 not bringing up TRIM 7.1 dialog box, but works in TRIM 6.2.1

Just tested in our environment.

With TRIM 6.2.3 and Office 2000 I don't get the TRIM integration when inserting a file.

With TRIM 6.2.5 and Office 2003/2007 the TRIM integration works like Alpine describes when inserting a file.

So it seems that with the new integration in TRIM 7.1, some features were overlooked.

Re: Using Insert in Word 2003 not bringing up TRIM 7.1 dialog box, but works in TRIM 6.2.1

This bug appears to be known:

"CTRL + S gives differernt behaviour to File>Save in Word 2003"

http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM1162701

I get the feeling this is a problem in word's ODMA implementation.  The menus work, the save and open toolbar buttons work, cntrl-s and ctrl-o and VB methods like Save() don't cause the TRIM integration dialogs to pop up - instead I see a standard file open/save dialog.

How can this work for TRIM 6.2.2 and not TRIM 7.1?  The KM says it's a microsoft issue, but it doesn't appear to have affected previous versions of TRIM.

Has anyone for any clues about this?

The integration is completely re-developed in a different code base in 7.1 compared to all previous versions.

Bugs/Limitations will be different, behaviour may vary in some areas as well.
