Do I understand correctly that the HP Laptops have somehow woven the Radeon video cards into their MBoards in such a way that - unlike Dell which uses 4 simple screws - makes them unable to be detacted and replaced/upgraded?
I was thinking of some way to upgrade from the Radeon x600. Is there a path - admittedly unsupported by HP - but warranty is up and I can disassemble this thing and put it back together if I can get the right parts. I build PCs for friends all the time.
Is there another motherboard with a better video card that would fit into my old case? I can just swap that out if need be.
Looking for ideas and possible sources for parts.
