Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

I have a close cousin to yours, a dv9608nr. I have been able to locate the nVidia GeForce Go 7150M video driver, the built in web-cam driver, the Synaptics Touchpad driver and the Broadcom 802.11 wireless driver. I am still looking for the nVidia nforce motherboard drivers and Conexant HD audio / soft modem drivers. Let me know if you need the ones I have.

Here you go:

The nVidia nForce 630i chipset seems to work on laptops with the GeForce Go 7150 graphics, per Cheryl who is the expert in this.

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

Wow! I now have everything except the "High Definition Audio Soft Modem" working. Fantastic progress.

The hardware ID is a

HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5045&SUBSYS_103C30CF

To be honest, it's not all that important, it's more of a last straw. I would entertain suggestions however. Thank you very much for your excellent assistance getting me this far.

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

Here is how to get the modem working:

Download, and unzip the modem driver file:
sp35335.exe
Under the section of the WinXP\SprtHD5m.inf file, I added the following hardware id: ExcludeFromSelect= HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5045&SUBSYS_103C30CF

AND under the section of the WinXP\SprtHD5m.inf file, I added the following hardware id:
%HSFModem% = ModemX, HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5045&SUBSYS_103C30CF

After editing the inf file, go through the same "upgrade driver" process, be sure you point to the correct directory manually if you have to. This should solve the remaining "unknown device" issue.

You can edit the .inf file using notepad.

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

Vitalii, use these drivers. If you have any problems please start a new post.

The Nvidia Chipset, install and reboot before other drivers:

Nvidia Graphics:

http://tinyurl.com/2q6ss4

Drivers from DV9000z cto series should work on your model for missing drivers.

For audio, you need MS UAA,with a reboot before Conexant Audio and Modem drivers.HP Quick Launch,Ricoh Media Card Reader,AMD Update, etc are all here.(Do not use a bios, chipset or graphics)

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

I have just recently formatted 2 dv9000 model dv9924ca hp pavilion notebooks

I downgraded them from Vista Home x84 to Windows Professional SP3 x84...and wow what an idea! hard to find WinXP Drivers.

I did some google search and wow! like everyone who bought the laptop downgraded to XP and had trouble finding drivers!!

I got it all sorted out, made up a package with all the drivers, instructions etc for any other poor soul out there ripping their hair out in agony

It would be to big to attach, so i will zip and upload to a file host

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

How did people go about installing XP? I've spent time integrating the chipset and storage drivers into an XP3 install CD, but whenever I boot the XP installer, I get a message saying that there is no hard drive on the system. I could pull the hard drive and install to it from another computer, but I wanted to know if there were a way to get around this problem from the get go.

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

It turns out I had the incorrect intel chipset drivers. Slipstreamed in the correct drivers and I was able to install.

Re: XP drivers for Pavilion dv9000

Hi everyone,

I cannot find some drivers after downgrading to XP.

Model: HP Pavilion dv9000
Service Tag: dv9660es
p/n: GZ953EA#ABE
s/n: CNF74668BT

I installed chipset nVidia nForce 630a, but Ethernet driver was not installed. Besides, audio driver was successfully installed, but it doesn't work.

Any idea, please?
