I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1131ea Entertainment Notebook PC.
Last week I replaced the battery for a 12 cell battery.
Now the Laptop will not start from the battery with the mains lead out.
It starts from mains power, then runs fine from the battery. The battery lasts for many hours and recharges to 100% fine.
When the laptop is on battery only, it runs past the BIOS checks and tries to load Windows and fails just before the splash screen and then shuts down the power and goes dead. Then when you start on mains power it has to do a system restore to boot, which it does.
On battery power only, the laptop will boot in safe mode and runs basic apps. So it looks like a driver problem, but i cant get further than that.
I have flashed the BIOS from the HP support site, and have tried to update the battery drivers from withing Device Manager.
Any help would be gratefully received.
