Built-In Web Cam Problems

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I have been having problems with my built in web cam in my HP Pavilion dv2000.

When I downloaded a new version of Skype to my computer in November 2009, the web cam stopped connecting with it and a program called Cyberlink YouCam kept coming up.

It was very frustrating so I uninstalled and Cyberlink YouCam. Now my web cam is unable to connect to Skype, Facebook or any other programs. I looked at the device manager, and it says it is working properly.

Every time I attempt to use the web cam the "do-ding" noise of the USB port happens.

Please help!

Thanks.

A laptop is not a blade server. I'll ask the moderators to move it.
What windows version are you using?

Dennis,
FWIW: As you know, threads can not be moved from here to the BSC area.

Re: Built-In Web Cam Problems

Anna,
as the problem is *hardware-related* you will be better off if you reach the specialists for your model of notebook. You'll meet them in the forum "notebook PCs - pavilions, presario".
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/categoryhome.do?categoryId=411
I'll ask moderators to move this thread there.

I addition you might ask in "Notebook Computers (Laptops)" in the new "Consumer Products" forums area:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Computers-Laptops/ct-p/Notebook
There is far more traffic meanwhile in the new forum.

Yes but it gets it to the closest forum where you can see it. :-)
And it gets it out of a completely unrelated forum.
