I have been having problems with my built in web cam in my HP Pavilion dv2000.
When I downloaded a new version of Skype to my computer in November 2009, the web cam stopped connecting with it and a program called Cyberlink YouCam kept coming up.
It was very frustrating so I uninstalled and Cyberlink YouCam. Now my web cam is unable to connect to Skype, Facebook or any other programs. I looked at the device manager, and it says it is working properly.
Every time I attempt to use the web cam the "do-ding" noise of the USB port happens.

as the problem is *hardware-related* you will be better off if you reach the specialists for your model of notebook. You'll meet them in the forum "notebook PCs - pavilions, presario".
I'll ask moderators to move this thread there.
I addition you might ask in "Notebook Computers (Laptops)" in the new "Consumer Products" forums area:
There is far more traffic meanwhile in the new forum.

Yes but it gets it to the closest forum where you can see it. :-)
And it gets it out of a completely unrelated forum.
