2 Batteries won't charge?

I have both a Presario X6000 and NX9600; nearly identical notebooks. Both needed batteries. Although 6600mAh is standard, I got a 4400mAh for the X6000 and it works OK - in either notebook. For the NX9600, I've bought a 4400mAh, then a 5200mAh; both show 0% and neither would take a charge in either computer. Neither will start-up, and if unplugged, the computer immediately shuts off. I know it's certainly possible to get two defective batteries.... but I don't like the odds. Am I missing something here? By the way, all 3 batteries are brand new "replacement" type.

Re: 2 Batteries won't charge?

No, they are not HP brand batteries. I got them on eBay. Say what you want about "cheap replacement" batteries, but they have a 99% satisfaction rating. That's why I'm asking if there is something else, like a setting having to do with the battery, that I'm not aware of.
