looking for Insyde Software MobilePRO boot block activation procedure

I'm trying to repair non-booting HP Pavilion ZT1000-IB (HP P/N F4554AV) notebook after unsuccessful BIOS upgrade attempt using ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/ccd/soar2sdd/ob936/ob-9854-1/ibm110.exe

According to Insyde Software website their BIOS is supposed to have 'Boot Block with Crisis Detect and Recovery' implemented as a standard feature. But I did not find the boot block activation instructions anywhere - i.e. what should I do and what media should I try to boot from in this situation?

Re: looking for Insyde Software MobilePRO boot block activation procedure

You might need a specially wired "port" (called the block) which is plugged into the parallel port.

You also need a special disk from HP that contains the new bios in a format in which the BIOS FLASH BOOT LOADER can handle.

It is loaded from a floppy drive.

Since you are going to ask.

No. HP does not give this out AFAIK.

Send your machine back to HP for a fix.
