Re: UNKNOWN DEVICE ACPI\HPQ0007\2&DABA3FF&0 !!HELP!!!

[ Edited ]

Cheryl,
I am very good with drivers but this has me stumped.I have a DV9700 P/N Kl035EA#ABV.  I have successfully installed all the XP x64 drivers except one.
ACPI\HPQ0007\2&DABA3FF&0  the darn QuickLaunch.
First I installed:  .Net Framework v2.0 x64:
Tried Quick Launch Buttons:     ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38171.exe
Quick Launch v6.40B SP38171 on Win XP x64 generated the error:     “Not Compatible with this version of Windows”
SOLUTION:  unpack then run setup.exe in XP compatibility mode for XP x64 installations. (Right click > Properties > Compatibility tab > check box “run this program…”> XP >ok.   (But their is still an unknown device in the Device Manager.)   IE: ACPI\HPQ0007\2&DABA3FF&0
I am guessing sp38171.exe did not install properly.
Got any ideas???   I can not do a Forced install, since their is no INF file.
Did I install something in the incorrect order ?
Starting over is not desirable but possible if necessary.
Is their a better quick launch driver ?   Even an older one.
2nd Problem :  Brightness Control Keys F7 & F8 Do not function. I can not control the screen brightness. This is not a VGA issue.  I am told it may be a Intel Chipset driver issue.
What do you know about it ?
I currently have Intel Chipset v9.2.0.1015.
What is the newest Intel Chipset Driver version ?
What is the original Intel Chipset Driver version.?

Lastly,  What is the difference between QuickPlay and QuickLaunch ?

See attachment of device Manager.
thanks.
