Hi, I have a Pavilion g6-1c71ca Notebook PC with Intel HD Graphics 3000.
HP is no longer providing updates of the Graphics drivers for this product.
Is it safe to update to generic drivers from the Intel website to newest drivers?
The laptop has Intel's QuickSynch Video Decoding available but it works best when the drivers are updated.
I am aware that updating to generic drivers not authored by HP may cause system instability but I would like to know how much customization has been made to the HP graphics drivers that using generic ones from the Intel website would cause problems.
Has anyone udpated to generic drivers without issues?
I can't afford to buy a new machine.
