Pavilion DV6910US disk

[ Edited ]

Would there be any issue with replacing the supplied 4200 rpm hdd with a new Seagate 7200 rpm drive. Can the laptop power this drive:

Are there other possible pitfalls? Inadequate speed on the bus, etc.

Re: Pavilion DV6910US disk

No issues.
Powering its operation should not be a problem in anyway, but if you compare the Watts consumption figures for both in there specs, you will see if it will effect your battery life.
The rotational speed of the hard drive is transparent to the system (i.e. system bus) the data is just available faster.
Consider a solid state drive. Increased performance and battery life.
